Dynamics of Rigid Body
Translational Motion, Rotational Motion and Moment of Inertia
1. Rigid Body
A rigid body is a body made up of many particles in which the distance between particles remains constant even when forces act on it.
This means:
• The shape and size of the body do not change.
• Only its position or orientation changes.
The motion of a rigid body can be of two types:
1. Translational motion
2. Rotational motion
